Currencycloud gives ​banks, fintechs and businesses the capability to move money across borders, and transact globally in multiple currencies. They make it easy for clients to embrace digital wallets, and even to embed finance into the core of their business – no matter what industry they’re in.

Sēon worked in partnership with Currencycloud to overhaul their white label onboarding process. The Sēon team established a structure for the new user journey following extensive direct and indirect research.


The new flow is designed to encourage users to complete the form in its entirety, finding subtle solutions to reduce form fatigue and minimise the likelihood of drop-off. 

With focus groups, Sēon identified the most common pain points for users. The UX team introduced simplifications that would solve these obstacles whilst ensuring Currencycloud could still collect the extensive information necessary for compliance.

Sēon’s UX designs introduced breadcrumbs to guide users through the journey with transparency, in addition to a progress bar to encourage users along the way. We introduced smart search functionality to reduce time-consuming sections of the form, and interactive elements to create moments of delight.

To nod towards Currencycloud’s branding without saturating the form with distinctive design elements, we established a user interface inspired by neumorphism. Using subtle contrast to lift elements into a 3D plane, the new design encourages engagement through the use of simple but satisfying interactivity. It acts as the perfect foundation for companies to overlay accents of their own branding through colour.

The Sēon team built working prototypes for the web and mobile flows, which were tested by real users and refined according to their feedback.
